   Submitting a Claim

Knowing what to do when you need to file a claim can be confusing. The most important thing to remember is to contact your SIA agent as soon as possible. You can start the claim process with as little or as much information as you have. If you are unsure about what information you’ll need, your SIA agent identify any other information you’ll need during the claim process. In general, the basics are always useful to begin the claims process including:
1. What is your policy number?
2. What is the date of the occurrence?
3. What is the type of loss or damage?
4. The condition of your vehicle, home, business?
5. Where was the location of the occurrence?
6. Were others involved? If yes, do you have their contact information?
7. Was anyone injured?
8. Were authorities contacted (such as police, fire department, or ambulance)?
